Crouse Receives MAW Award Bro. Roger Crouse, DGM, was honored at the February 16, 2012 Make-A-Wish Recognition dinner held at The Essex in Essex, Vermont. He received the first ever "Advisor's Award". Bro. Roger is a founding member of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Vermont® chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America® and the last founding member of this Chapter to step aside. He has volunteered at both the state and national levels. Among his remarks at the event, "I reflect on the following: The first year of existence, 1989-90, and the first three wishes: A young girl who wanted to meet Larry, Darryl and Darryl on the set of the old Bob Newhart Show in California, A little girl who wanted to go to Disneyworld, and A young boy who wanted a computer. The chapter had about 15 volunteers at the time (board members, wish granters and other volunteers combined), There was no staff – and no office, and There was only $147 in the bank. "Thanks to the work of the volunteers and the donors the volunteers found, all of those wishes were granted in a timely fashion. And the Chapter never missed granting a wish to a qualified child." Standing before nearly 500 attendees, he added, "I look around now and see how this organization has grown, and how it has satisfied its mission for Vermont children with a life threatening medical condition. I am amazed and deeply pleased at what I see. "For me, and perhaps on behalf of all the founders of this chapter, thanks to all of you for all that you do in being part of this Chapter's success. Thanks to you as staff, as a governing board, as an advisory board, as volunteers and as donors! "Hope, strength and joy to the children we serve. Good luck to all now and in the future."

Masonic Fraternity Warms the Children. Members of Libanus Lodge #47 F. & A. M. in Bristol donated several items of new clothing to needy students at the Robinson Elementary School in Starksboro as a part of the Grand Lodge of Vermont "Warm the Children" project. Accepting the donations is Amy Johnston (Center) Guidance counselor. Presenting the clothing donation on behalf of the Lodge, are Worshipful Master Ken Goodrich (on left) and Senior Deacon Jim Burt. Thanks also to the community members that have made the funds available by their support of the Lodge monthly breakfast held on the second Sunday of every month.

College Scholarships Awarded To Sharon Students Two Sharon students are this year's recipients of The Sharon Masonic Lodge Annual College Scholarships competition. They were selected from applicants from almost all of the schools to which Sharon Students attend to receive $500.00 grants. At the presentation were (left to right) Leon Sheldon, Scholarship Chairman, Hannah LaPlaca, recipient, Julia Robinson, recipient, and Cal Keyler, Secretary of Sharon Lodge. Hannah LaPlaca is currently attending The Community College of Vermont with a Liberal Arts major and Julia Robinson is attending Lebanon Community College with a major in Early Childhood Education. "On Christmas Eve, December 24, 2011, at the Presbyterian Church in East Topsham, Vermont the members of Pulaski Lodge No. 58, Wells River, Vt. had the honor of presenting the flag of our country to Captains Thomas and Bergen Flannigan while they were home for the holidays. Capt. Bergen was wounded while on tour in Afghanistan at which time she lost her right leg from a road side bomb. After many months of hard work she is now able to return to work with the US Army. Capt. Thomas Flannigan and his wife, Capt. Bergen Flannigan, are headed to Captains school in Missouri. Capt. Thomas Flannigan is the nephew of Brother James Stevens, R. W.
