Paul C. Mosher was born on February 3rd, 1962 in Springfield, Vermont. His early schooling was in the elementary schools of Charlestown and Hillsboro, New Hampshire. He attended high school in Canaan, Vermont, graduating in 1980. Paul was then accepted at Norwich University and graduated four years later with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice.
Following graduation Paul was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army where he served as an infantry officer from 1985 to 1989 at Fort Benning, Georgia and Fort Lewis, Washington. In 1990 Paul returned home and joined the Vermont State Police, graduating from the Vermont Police Academy in December of 1990. As a state trooper he was assigned to the Derby barracks, from 1992 to 1998 he was also assigned to the Canaan Outpost. He retired from the Vermont State Police in 2012 after 22 years of service. Since retiring Paul has worked at local elementary schools as a substitute teacher and as a support person for children with behavior problems. He currently lives in Sutton, Vermont.
Paul is the proud father of two sons, Roy and Karl. The boys became very involved in scouting where Paul became an Assistant Scoutmaster and Troop Treasurer. The oldest, Roy, is a Master Mason and member of Crescent Lodge in Lyndonville, Vermont.
Paul was raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason on January 20, 1990 at Center Lodge #34 in Rutland, Vermont. On June 6, 2002 he affiliated with Crescent Lodge #66 in Lyndonville and on September 8, 2008 he also affiliated with Island Pond Lodge #44 in Island Pond, Vermont. From 2005 to 2007 and again from 2014 to 2017 Paul served as Master of Crescent Lodge. In June of 2007 he was appointed District Deputy Grand Master of District #12 and served in that position through 2011. He was appointed Grand Pursuivant in 2011 and was elected Grand Junior Deacon in 2012. In 2015 he was appointed Grand Lecturer by Grand Master George Deblon and was elected Grand Junior Warden in 2017. Paul received the John Barney Medal in 2011.
In support of Grand Lodge Paul serves as the Grand Representative to Bulgaria, where he has attended lodge meetings. He is a member of the Edward J. Wildblood, Jr. Lodge of Research #110 and in June 2008 he was elected the first Master of the Young Masons Lodge #111, of which he is a charter member. In 2006 Paul was created a Noble of Mount Sinai Shriners in Montpelier and served as Potentate in 2015. He also holds a membership in Green Mountain Chapter #527 of the National Sojourners.
